IHM Religious Education Program:
All public school children are expected to take part in our religion program which begins in Grade One and continues through Grade Eight. Sacramental preparation is a regular part of the program with the sacraments of Reconciliation and First Eucharist in second grade. In order to receive these sacraments, children must be in our program for two years. A kindergarten program is offered for five-year-olds, but space is limited. A calendar will be provided to the parents at the beginning of the school year.
Program Tuition:
$200.00
$50.00 each additional child. ($300.00 cap)
Program Times:
Kindergarten - Grade 3 meet on Sunday 9:00 -10:15 AM.
Grades 4-8 meet on Monday 7:00 - 8:00 PM or Tuesday 4:00-5:00 PM.
Re-Registration - Each year in April, letters are emailed to all registered families asking that they re-register their children starting on April 29th and no later than July 26th. A late fee of $50.00 is charged after July 26th.
New Registrations - Families who have children to be registered for the first time are asked to call the Religious Education Office ASAP. A meeting is mandatory to
Sunday Liturgy - Families are asked to attend Mass on a weekly basis. We have a Children's Choir at the 10:30 Mass and children in Grade One and older are invited to take part. After the opening prayer, the children are led into the gym for their Liturgy of the Word. They return to the church as the collection is being taken.
A Little Bit About Our Program
Catechetical Staff - Our catechists and class assistants are all volunteers. Volunteerism from our parishioners is vital to maintain the success of the program. Guidance and
Progress Reports are given two times a year - in December and April.
