June 27th-July 2nd 8 teens from IHM and over 100 from other BOLD parishes in NJ set out for Dover Delaware for a week of service to those in need. Worksites included a camp for teens with Down Syndrome where our teens served as counselors, repairs to a therapeutic horse farm, painting and repairing resident’s homes in the Dover area, as well as work on State Parks and with Habitat for Humanity.
Our young church had the opportunity to be love in action for others and they did not disappoint. It was a week of connecting with others, serving others and growing in our Catholic faith! Many of those that we served commented on the hard work, compassion and dedication of our youth. Our IHM BOLD teens did our parish community proud with longs days of hard work in the heat, but always with a smile on their faces and a kind word and prayer for those we served! Catholic Heart Workcamp is a trip we take every year at IHM and next year we hope to double or triple our IHM group. Look for details on our parish website and in your emails! A big thank you to all our IHM teens who gave a week of their summer to help others!
